What if I told you DISCIPLINE is one of the greatest expressions of self-love?
I used to restrict myself so much. Especially in my eating habits and my social life. For so long I believed a lie that “I just didn’t have enough will power to accomplish _______.”
I was on a cycle of…β
ππΌ Be rigid (it’s ALL or nothing!)β
ππΌ Fall off track (be miserable)β
ππΌ Beat myself up (feel guilty about it)β
ππΌ Crush my own self-esteemβ
ππΌ Be even MORE rigidβ
ππΌ Fall off track (be miserable)β
… you get the point
But I never gave up wanting to identify and go to work on the road blocks standing in my way of being the BEST version of myself.β
When I learned to love, heal and forgive myself, it became a habit for me to be patient and gracious with myself. And now in moment to moment choices, in the smallest decisions, I WANT to stay disciplined on the things I know will get me where I want to go.
And here’s another key point I had to learn the hard way…
It’s not about forcing a miserable and rigid life on myself, but it IS about…β
π Honoring my own word and the commitments I make to myself (this is the #1 thing that helped me build self-confidence).
π₯ Listening to my body and choosing the foods and movement that I know it loves to doβ
ππΌ Saying YES to hanging out with people that bring positive energy. It brings out the best ME so I can bring out the best in THEM!β
π₯³ Enjoying new spontaneous adventures that bring me joy and spark more creativity, ease, fun and F L O Wβ
Once you build the habit of self-love being your daily method of operation, watch… you will WANT and CRAVE to do the things that keep you on track.β
Give it a shot and report back!
P.S. I was recently interviewed on the Hyper Conscious Podcast, where I share the inside scoop when I hit rock bottom and the journey went on to rebuild my confidence and self-love. Listen to the full episode here.
